Grounded helps you take back control of your screen time. Build healthier habits with three blocking modes, automatic schedules, and parent-approved tasks that turn chores into focus time for the kids.
Group your apps however makes sense — social, news, games — then pick the rule that fits the habit you're trying to change. Mix and match across groups.
Manually start a focus block for as long as you need. The apps stay blocked until the timer runs out — no escape hatch.
Allow apps for a daily allowance. Once the budget is spent, they stay blocked until midnight resets the clock.
Block apps after you've opened them too many times. Catches the doom-scroll loop before it has a chance to settle in.
Set a daily window (e.g. 22:00 → 08:00) and blocking activates without you having to remember.
Set chores or homework as tasks. When you mark them complete, your child gets reduced block time or extra budget on their timing groups.
Require a PIN to unblock so children — or you, on a weak afternoon — can't bypass the rules you set.
Grounded runs as a foreground service so blocking stays active even when your phone is idle. No quiet failures, no "oops, I forgot to enable it."
Bundle apps into named groups — "Social," "News & doomscroll," "Games" — and apply the right rule to each. Edit them whenever the habit shifts.

Closed testing on Google Play has a small ritual to it. Follow these in order — the Play Store won't show you the app until you've opted in.
From the same Google account you use on your Android phone, join the closed-test group below. This is what unlocks Play Store access.
Open the testing opt-in link on your phone and accept. Google takes a few minutes to wire your account up to the build.
Open the Play Store listing on your phone — you'll see a small "you're a tester" tag near the top. Hit install and you're in.
We built Grounded because we wanted it for ourselves — not to mine your behaviour. Here's how that shows up in the product.
